Holmes has just gone on a rebounding spree -- now has 12 boards and hits the bench after making a shot (8 points to his name).

89-80, 2:34 to go.

Come on!

Mick Hill just hit a 3. Now 91-88 - uh oh, hold them off!

Brannen for 2. 91-90. 1:12 to play.

we lost by 1...it takes a while for the final scores to come up on the nbl site for some reason but this long pause suggests the game is over...however, in saying that, it could have gone into overtime somehow? lets hope so cause we wouldnt wanna lose after being up by so much

The live scoreboard says 92-91, Bullets way.

The Bullets player point totals add up to 94. Sixers totals add up to 95... Wha?

Did the same thing in a tight game last year were our individual scores were more than the total....it is usually out by a few points most games

Egan kicked our ass and Dereck finished us off

Great to have Dusty back

i would trust the total score and not the player onces. More chance they got that wrong then the total i would think.

did u see the 2nd half comback from melbourne over the hawks? 58 to 28 second half...to take it 99 79! old legs seem to continue to get the job done!...lets hope when the scores are finalised, the 6ers end up on top.

EC - after the game paused at 7 seconds and the scoreboard went back to the 3rd quarter, they seemed to update two stats. Something involved Bryant Matthews, and the other line was an Oscar three pointer in the third. Previously Oscar had 7 and 7. Now scoreboard shows him with 9 and 7. Bizarre.

I think 92-91 is the final score. thescore.com.au has updated and they go by SMS sent from the games, so likely to be on the mark.

Isaac, if Oscar's & Bryant Matthew's tally was increased by 2 in error, the total tally is still with the Sixers up by 1, 93-92. After all that I still can't believe that Rees had 3 lots of free throws in the last few minutes and only getting 1 out 2 each time.

against his old team too...the crowd would have loved it. what a shocking night for the 36ers.

Reply #19741 | Report this post

good coaches ploy - double team the likes of farley, maher - leave rees open - so he has to get the ball - then foul him - for only 50% fouls hot ratio.

sounds like clever coaching to me

Here's a report from someone who went to the game, copied from the OzHoops forum:

"I have just got back from the game. I can tell you 'The Library' was going absolutely bezerk tonight. The bullets were never a chance until about 3 minutes to go."

"Mick Hills three was the catalyst for the winning run. Rucker hit 3 free throws after what I would call a dubious call on Rychart but nothing out of the ordinary from the refs calls tonight. Rees could only manage to hit one of his free throws after being fouled after pulling in a huge rebound on the offensive glass. That had the bullets down by one. After a quick inbounds the ball goes to Rucker who passes it down to Matthews for the dunk and at that point the noise was deafening, but low and behold there is the ref is holding his arm up calling the play back and waving the basket away after one of the sixers, can't recall who, had fouled Rucker. Rucker hit both penalty free throws and Maher couldn't manage the tough jumper from about 17ft. Bullets win."

Losing by 1 after the week the 6ers has had is a great effort by the guys....considering the run they have had with games last weekend, the All Star game and a hard game last night.

Well done boys, we will just have Tiger meat sandwiches for a late lunch on Wednesday :)

Yogee...I'm not feeling so good. The Sixers have lost 2 straight and 4 out of their last 5. This the stretch run home and while we have been close, that isn't going to get it done. A lot more pressure on the Sixers on Wednesday night than I thought there would be.

MUST win game on wednesday to clinch 3rd spot. townsville and melborune right on our heels. if we did we last night, and after the hakws shocking second half against melbourne, the 36ers would have been just one game behind the hawks.
turns out to be a pretty significant loss last night. townsville have a pretty good run home and with newley firing, they would be challenging for 3rd spot along with melbourne, and the 36ers.

john -- I definitely agree. It would've been great if we could've picked up the win last night as the Crocs have an easy run home and the Tigers are a form team. Neither game this week is a surety, but I think we can win both. Especially against the Hawks - despite their record, I just don't rate their full roster.

If we lose to the Tigers on Wednesday, and the Bullets win their next game, we may drop two spots and be fighting for a home court advantage in the play-offs.
