SACBA - Finals - Week 2
Mens A Grade - Final
Beaumont A v Hope Valley A - Beaumont were up 12 mid way through the 1st half but Hope Valley pulled it back to 1 mid way through the 2nd half. Beaumont made some clutch shots and free throws down the strecth to extend it to 8. Hope Valley then hit a 3 with 2 minutes left and got the lead down to 4. Beaumont got 2 stops in the last minute and won. A good game by Beaumont - Hope Valley did not make the 3 like they usually do and lost the chance to go back to back.
Beaumont will face Prince Alfred A - in a 2006 Grand Final Rematch which Beaumont won. PAOC have lost the last 3 Grand Finals. Game is Saturday Sept 20 @ Mars @ 7.15pm.
Mens B Grade - Elimination Final
Modbury A v Saint Peters B - Modbury played well and were up 8 with 3 minutes to go. SPOC started to foul and Modbury missed crucial free throws. SPOC made some clutch 3's - with 15 seconds left SPOC hit a tough 3 then got the steal and took another 3 for the win. The shot fell short and Modbury won their way into the Grand Final.
Modbury will face Prince Alfred C - the games this year have been extremely close all year and looks to be a good match. Game is Saturday Sept 20 @ Mars @ 4.45pm.
Mens D Grade - Elimination Final
Hope Valley B v Prince Alfred D - Hope Valley proved too good in the end and made baskets when they had to.
Hope Valley A will face Aldgate A @ Mars @ 6.00pm
Mens E Grade - Elimination Final
Saint Peter E's v Beaumont C - SPOC ended up winning by 20.
Saint Peters E will face Prince Alfred E. PAOC E won by 26 in the qualifying Final last week and if they play at their best are a very good side.
