I tested out the new scoring system on a top player from each position (last years averages):
Anstey: old scoring-61.3 new-515.1
Ballinger: old-48.7 new-468.8
Grizzard: old-44.7 new-417.7
Penney: old-42.4 new-454.8
Kavossy: old-39.3 new-413.3
From this we can see that high scoring swingmen like Penney will become far more damaging with the crappy new scoring.
Also, on the Sportal 'fantasy' page I saw that some other sports like Soccer have both a 'fantasy' comp and a 'dream team' comp, so hopefully this isn't all we get for basketball this year.
