The Australian Institute of Sport Women's Program are also conducting a selection camp at the end of August.Georgia Minear, Nicole Harris, Nicole Seekamp and Shauni Bow have been invited to attend that camp.

I would think around 25 girls would get invited (someone that knows care to correct me??). There are 21,000,000 people in australia and around 1.5 Million in SA. You do the math.

or perhaps they are just trying to find the best young players who can represent Australia in the future?
dont think that many of the Sa country girls other than seekamp stood out greatly at nationals. They had a very easy draw and were quite lucky, but good on them. They have a bronze medal. There really wasnt any more AIS quality there. Most were average players at best.
That was obvious when they took on harder teams

Really,
Like the QLDS team they beat in the bronze medal game, who also happen to beat the SA Metro girls?
Has nothing to do with performances and all to do with who's banging your drum.
Interesting point digger,
but the country girls did not come up against the metro girls in the comp. However the country girls were comprehensively beaten by the metro team in all the practice matches they had, so how do you explain tha???.
Its the luck on the day and obviously the country team got by on sheer luck not talent!!!

bahaha. The sac did get beaten my metro ONCE, they only played them ONCE and it was very early on in the prep and with two stars not playing.
I wouldnt say that sac had an easy draw either. ACT, QLD North and WA Metro all very comeptitive. NT being the only real weak side. They were the bottom 4 sides. Actually it was probably the harder draw as the other one had Tas, WA Country and NZ who were all terrible.
I do agree though that the one SAC girl that made it was probably the only one who deserved to.
Scooby , SAC had an easy draw and the way it's set up, always will- metro when they played were without players too, although they played worse when they returned.
It's luck, because a team like SAC that finished 10 or 11 th last year had several pick-ups for camps/AIS etc.
If you look at the connections of the AIS coach his selections are not puzzling but they will bite him on the bum as those selected falter.
You will never get an impartial selection system so we all have to get over it

You guys dont get it, its not if you score points or whatever at nationals. Its not about someone pushing their kid.
When it is all said and done the ones that play for australia will be the ones that show the most potential to be able to compete in international basketball.
Give it a rest with this SAC girls vs SAM girls etc...
