Dodman to AFL?

Did anybody see the channel 9 news Sports Report tonight?

They did a story on Jordy Dodman.

He made his League debut for the Roosters over the weekend and made a good impression.

They reckon he'll be drafted in the AFL this year and that a few teams are intersted + made enquiries.

The Roosters expect him to go also.

What do you think?

Saw him about a month ago playing reserves for The Roosters... League footy let alone AFL looked a long way off... Will have another chance to look at him this week, when the Magpies head to prospect to lock down a finals spot...

20 years old, 6ft 9, big build, has made AFL All Australian junior teams before. Think there is your answer!

Never seen him play footy, but based on his time at the sixers surely his fitness would have to be an issue? At AFL level even ruckmen have to be awefully fit these days ...

Are you saying that he is unfit? Surely someone who played ABL for Sturt and trained with the 36ers must have a decent level of fitness. I don't expect they would of let him turn up, do a couple of laps, shoot a few baskets and still have him on the team......

Dean Cox used to trip him self over doing laps at age 19 and was quite unfit as he had never trained with the required intensity .

Sure Jordy would have some work ahead of him but clubs that drafted him would be aware he is a project and after 2 to 3 AFL preseasons he would be 22-23 with plenty of good footy ahead of him .

Not a big issue .

If what i've been told (that he has shit all work ethic), he'll have no chance of making the AFL.

Only comment on Jordan if you actually know him. He has one of the best work ethics of anyone going around.
