To my knowledge Mahoney has not signed anywhere yet? and neither Bowley?

Amanda plays with Eastern in the ABA.
Bit lacking in the bigs IMO.
Bowley/Truslove were not up to it when They were younger, can't see how They will be now!!

Amanda Williams? heard a rumour on Sat night she'd signed?
they'd want to sign pretty soon then, or else they're doing a lot of early training sessions for nothin.
Mahoney did sign with Townsville, but I have it on good authority that this has been scrapped and she will remain here this year.
Great to hear Amanda has been given a chance, has been a top performer for Eastern for a number of years.
A top performer it a team with not much talent other than Kayla now. Thats a laugh. She and they will get murdered

Jack, as far as we have heard, she entertained the thought of retiring, but was talked out of it...

Im not a huge fan of Marino but she may be able to hold down the point spot with some good direction from the leadership group and the coach. But i agree with earlier posts in that Richards would be great. So would Veal if we could get her back. Mansfield would be a great development/back up player if she hasnt gone o/s..

Not sure I can believe that Mahoney would back out of her contract with Townsville, but it was signed prior to Phillips annoucing she wouldn't be back. Maybe she was lured back with the promise of a heap of court time, (actually getting any court time would be an improvemnet over last season) plus not having to take six months off of her career would be a big plus.
What happens to the contract with Townsville then ??
Doesn't really sound very plausible to me, although I would like to see her back, easily the nicest person to talk to from last seasons team IMO.
On paper the 08/09 lineup looks a bit thin, Is Vince running out of money, or is Carla just no good at getting the big name signatures ?
Most of the new recruits seem to be locals from the CABL, are they hoping this might bring more people to the games ??
Maybe the money they're saving on expensive signatures can be put towards doing something they haven't tried before - like market and promote the bloody team.

Adelaide Girl - Jae Kingi (who also has the best butt ever seen in a basketball uniform), Jo Hill, Laura Summerton, Carla Boyd are all former Lightning champions just to name a few, whose numbers are also being worn. The only number not used is Sporn's number 14. Some of these players mentioned are Olympians and 3 time WNBL championship winners with Adelaide.
