Most Improved Players

It is amazing what a bit of extra court time, maturity and confidence can do to someone's game. There have been some massive improvement from some players this year which has made a big difference to the team success. To be honest I have only seen a few South games but the improvement in their form is for a few reasons.
1. playing a team game rather than looking only for Scanlon.
2. showing some faith in the ability of the 'bit players' who have beenj around for a few years.
Most Improved South players: Steve Williams and Luke Frost.

Go Panthers!!

How about other teams?

Yeah! Crusher without a doubt. Most definitely had to step up or west would have been destroyed!

Not that their season was their best, but had he not stepped up.....whoa!

Others to mention
Dave Bowley has stepped up since Dodman said goodbye.
Eagles - Hoban now doing what he was always capable of!

South - Frost Fuller and Williams all did benefit from seeing more of the court and ball and rose to the occasion, and now they are playing finals for the first time in bloody years after talk of no scanlon = wooden spoon.

Grantham from Norwood with Ottey out filled the shoes.
Templeton - Lions......never heard of him previously, either his first year or he stepped up!
Florence - Tigers....Made the best of a bad season.

Good topic charlie.
In my opinion those South guys you mentioned have all had excellent years. Fuller in particular has been so consistent with his output and at a very good percentage in games I have seen.

For Sturt, Bowley has looked good in the second half of the year but you can't go past Paget for improvement. Potentially the most improved player in the comp I think.

Hoban has had a stellar year and should feature high in medal voting.

Also, I would say Hambour has had a pretty handy year. Probably never underrated but he has put up great numbers pretty consistently this year.

Others?

Where did this Jason Reardon guy come from? I hadn't even heard of him last yr...... He has just come from nowhere especially in the last few games. Looking at the states looks like he didnt get too many minutes earlier in the season but its understandable if he's just a rookie....

Anyone know his background? Was he from their U20s team or did he move from somewhere else?

Grantham and the younger Webber have improved for Norwood...i think L.Burdon for North has also taken another step in his development this year.

Matt - he's come over from Vic (geelong maybe?). Not a Rookie player, but this is his first season in the CABL.

How can you say the Kurtis Phillips has improved when he is playing his first year? Unless you mean he has improved as the season has gone on?

Anyway he is easily the best rookie. He could even be the MVP of his team in his first year (Spud, Davis, Crusher the only other possibles).

I think Hoban is the league MIP. He has been much more consistent this year. In previous years he would have the occasional big game and then a heap of donuts in the following weeks. His poorer games are becoming less frequent.

Paul Smith from Southern. Big bench warmer last year and stepped up this year to be starting five nearly every game. Only thing wrong is that his legs are so thick he can't get off the ground to put the ball back in the hole after our rebounding taller opposition.

Reardon played for the Supercats in the SEABL competition in 141 games. Was an integral part of the their 3 titles. Was close to getting a contract with the wildcats in the past couple of years. Definitely no rookie.

Frogman i think you will fing that Paul can't jump during games because his legs are so tired from playing footy during the day.

Hoban had definately been a big improver...up 10ppg this year from last year, and 5rpg...thats pretty good in an already stacked line up.
