Breakers complete roster with Rickert, Tanner

The NZ Breakers have completed their off-season signings by retaining Rick Rickert and adding 6'8" PF Adam Tanner from the University of Denver.

Rickert played with the Breakers last season before an injury derailed his season. He has since recovered.

Tanner had signed with the Brisbane Bullets before the dramas involving David Kemp's purchase of the team left him looking for a replacement contract.

The Breakers' development players are Thomas Abercrombie (Washington State and in the extended Tall Blacks squad) and Corey Webster (Junior Tall Blacks).

Elsewhere in the NBL, the Wollongong Hawks are another team who could run with a single import. The Hawks are eager to add Glen Saville, Russell Hinder and Anthony Petrie to the squad.

In Perth, Kings' head coach Bill Tomlinson is being considered to assist Connor Henry, but supposedly Shawn Redhage has another preference that could prevent that from happening?

CJ Bruton
Kirk Penney
Oscar Forman
Dillon Boucher
Rick Rickert

Seems like a solid starting five if you ask me!

Ronaldson may start over both of them?

A lesser starting five (e.g., Turner instead of Bruton) got them into the play-offs last year. I think they should do OK.

I would say that the Breakers have done a great job assembling this team.

They have got a great big man import and with Penney, Oscar, Jones and CJ scoring aint going to be a problem. And that does not include Bear or Rickert.

They have a good blend of experience and youth. Boucher can shut down a lot of players form 1-4 in the league.

I can not not see any difficiencies in this squad at all.

Rex, please don't give Cecil another reason to google himself. By the way, I've decided to name him in the All-Time Best Flat Top Team, NBL.

PG - LeFleur
SG - Parkinson (surprise white guy!)
SF - Exum
PF - Bolden
C - Uthoff (second surprise white guy!)

Please be a critic.

How many of those flat-tops made it on to a Coke can?

Scott Ninnis

such an obvious line for an ad:

"Your hair might be flat, but Coke never will be."

Said by a smiling Scott Ninnis who then takes a satisfying gulp of icy cold Coke.

Apologies to all posters that I didn't list (except DICKO). It was obviously a jab at DICKO's previous post (and his dig at Oscar/Isaac) except I didn't have time to put every single posters name in there!
