Southern and Centrals: Get rid of 'em both

In a business environment both centrals and southern would be declared bankrupt - both in personell, volunteers and financially. Why do we continue to put up with their ineptness. It is a blight on our competition here in this state that these 2 areas continue to non perform. We continually hear excuse after excuse after excuse for their non performance.

Stop dragging the comp down and get lost !!!!

Serial state thats a bit harsh - you got a great state. I don't agree with the victorian on many occasions but he is spot on in this instance.

You just have 2 dumb arse clubs dragging your competition down big time.

Re Westies,
There is more to each club than just its senior programs, though. And this is probably the problem with many clubs - focusing too much at the top end.

Not ten years ago Southern (then NCT) won the overall State Championship. I don't see anything that is stopping them getting back to that level.

20 years ago, Dandenong was a backwater club that hardly filled VC teams, and their best players moved to Melbourne and Nunawading. Through hard work and time, they are now a major player in Victorian and Australian basketball.

Nothing is stopping Centrals and Southern from developing accept their own efforts and attitude! (ie thinking that Erin Phillips, or any other recruit, was the answer)

do some research on these clubs, before you start making all these negative comments.
but maybe you haven't got the ability to do any research, it is so much easier for you, who must be oh so perfect, to get on this site and degrade anything or anyone or any club who doesn't live up to your standards.

you are so shallow, victorian. (more like dicktorian.)

Victorian- says it all doesnt it- stay over the border idiot. Always have a go at clubs that you know nothing about. Junior teams at Southern over 40- not all clubs have that many- in state champs boys 3rd girls 5th overall 5th. 3 teams to Classics and 14 boys off to the Nationals. Yeah all doom and gloom isnt it and hell I dont even have children playing at the club anymore!!!! Get off the grass (literally) and go bother someone else with ur crap.

Actually you only have 36 junior teams which is the lowest since the club merged. You are 6th overall out of all the clubs in the biggest area of SA. Southern were bragging that they had heaps of teams in Classics last year and the year before and having 3 only this year is a huge drop off. One was only invited through a wildcard. 3rd in the boys was great but only came from 12 and 14 boys and 5th in the girls came from only winning the 21s, not exactly a great club effort. While I do not beleive that Southern should be kicked out, you should be doing a lot better than what you are showing and perhaps with continual in house fighting is holding the club back. Perhaps leadership in the past and present has been the main issue?

Team numbers: (Senior Teams not included)

Forestville 50
Norwood 49
North 44
Sturt 42
West 39
Southern 36
South 35
Woodville 28
Eastern 18 (approx)
Centrals 19 (approx)

As you can see after States Woodville are the huge improvers with only 28 teams.

Julius C on the money champ but based over the border. Not Eastern though as everyone thinks. I am a hillbilly but not that hillbillish.

Anon above is right - Southern are the biggest under achievers out there. They have a massive area to work with as do centrals.Dandy have as big an area and true 10 years ago were on the bones of their arse but look at them now - Can you see southern doing that - I dont think so !!!!
