The City South Conference will most definitely be back in 2005. The term 1 competition kicks off on February 6. The draw should be available late January on the web (http://www.citysouth.basketball.net.au).

The competition has outgrown Pasadena and will now be run at both Wayville and Pasadena on Sunday afternoons. Other changes include 1 hour time slots, the removal of age groups, a promotion/relegation structure and the possible introduction of teams from outside of Sturt and Forestville.

South will not be entering any teams at this stage.

The domestic competition concept will be discussed at a meeting of club coaching directors in late January.

Certainly - assuming your team is of an appropriate standard. The more teams we have, the merrier.

It means if an u14 team have won the final they earn a spot in the u16 grade the next season.

Sort of. Actually, we won't have age groups at all - just divisions. Teams will be promoted and relegated automatically based on their placing in the previous season. The theory is that this will allow teams to migrate to a level appropriate for their ability, and result in closer games.

Its amazing what can be achieved when all decisions don't have to go through a committee. A committee that will never agree on anything for fear someone might be getting an advantage.

We haven't fixed on an ansewer to that and similar questions (foul lines for U10s v U12s v U14s), ring height for U10s v U12s, etc.), but one proposal is to select a set of rules for the division appropriate for the majority of teams. For example, if a division has 5 U16 and 1 U14 team, the U16 rules apply.

Incidentally, this might also be an issue if we have girls and boys teams in the same division (which is a distinct possibility).

my daughter would love to play against the boys ! - however it's the 3 hr shower and 1 hr make up session before the game that worries me!
