One of those girls awards was a tie wasn't it?
Between Sturt and .... (can't remember).

Maybe Reserve Girls?

Yes, North tied with Sturt in the reserves girls. Bur how arrogant was you-know-who from Sturt just standing out there waiting for all the trophies. How hard would it have been to go back after each one?

And it starts! Get a life hater! Congrats to Sturt on the outstanding results. At least there are some who still strive for excellence in a cesspool of mediocrity that is SA basketball.

Ah Dogga, congrats on your pettiness.

btw - how good (and funny) was it to see Schensher (sp?) do a big fist pump after Southern got announced as U21 women State Champs, and then Jacob Holmes do a massive fist pump when Sturt where announced overall champions?!
Was great to see some (good-natured) pride between senior national league players towards their old junior associations!

Well done guys!

before you continue to be so petty please understand that the 'you-know-who' was told to stand and wait for those trophies. He works very very hard and he is just great to work with, but you just go right ahead and keep on bagging him and we will continue to reap the benefits. Run along and perpetuate all the other lies and misrepresentations that people make. I, for one,am beyond caring about the crap that people like you want to say about the hard workers in this sport. Well done to all the clubs and the hard workers, especially Woodville who have improved out of sight over the last couple of years - what a fantastic effort for those hard workers in that club.

Well done to Norwood well deserved, pretty predictable with top 3. West have improved have a good big lad that can play. Mavs did well without the big lad, well run as per usual, forgot pillow sore buttock from all the games.

What happened to Forestville in 16 girls?

Weren't Sturt, Norwood, Eastern and Woodville aware that Forestville won the GF in winter season last year?!

I doubt that all those Forestville girls will make Metro after this week end, will be lucky to have any more than 2 in the side.

And we all know that playng for Forestville gets you into country teams wether you are good enough or not, so all of them making it should be no suprise.

Grote78, politics dictates success so I dont think the Forestville girls have much to worry about as you just have to look at the last country state team that finished 11th ending up with 3 or 4 girls at the AIS. Friends in high places beats talent hands down just ask the Vics for there slant on it.

#185216"Yes those four sides should show forestville more respect with 4 state country reps and 3 state metro reps in the side."

obviously forestville in the 16 girls are not one of the top four girls teams at the moment. no matter how many country or metro state kids they have.
other teams are going over the top of them.

It has been coming for a while now.

Easter was the start of the signs that forestville 16g were not as they were cracked up to be.

They have been advantaged with extra coaching for a long time now, so once the other kids get the same amount of coaching they were always going to catch up.
Good even comp IMO.

You're right the competition is very good in Girls u16. Top five are very close. Norwood think they can take out the GF...suppose they need to get there first.

What sad little lives some of you lead.

Metro parent wannabe & Grote; one day your just gonna have to let it go, for your own sakes, so that both of you can, one day hopefully, move on.

"never any metro standouts"

You sound like a bitter metro or a country parent to me. Great stuff, this talking down, in particular when the journey is just starting! You must be a star at getting results through motivating people...

If you are unhappy about the standard of play and are unable to motivate people, maybe you've got yourself to blame. By going a bit harder at procreating, you might have hit a better gene combination at some stage; it's all a big lottery after all...

You're partly right though: Metro will have to reap their advantage by producing fab team play. Relying on a few individual standouts may get you somewhere in U14, but it isn't a reliable strategy in U18 and up. So no standouts is fine. All Metro players are well aware that they can do well provided they play as a team. I wish them luck, whoever has been picked!

Could be right Pultney, but no state team , unless it's a gold medal team, should go to the nationals without a couple of first years. Last year's team finished fifth with all second years which means thy were not that good.

How do you know where you are going to finish before you get to a tournament. It's not even like you have seen the opposition players before.
