What about LuuuuuuuuKe.
The NBL point system is a joke, really it is. The idea to have an equalization policy to have a fair and balanced league is fantastic but the distribution of points is stupid.

some interesting ones, how is Mike Chappell a 10 and Jason Crowe a 8??? id say Crowe had a much better season than Chappell, a few others similar to this, what are others thoughts. I think some are rated a bit highly eg Chappell, Alston and Muursep not too many too low though. Overall its ok i guess but yea a few interesting ones in there.

Lots to talk about here. Gerald Brown the same as Chris Anstey? Ben Pepper a 9?! The top end is just a mess. Half of those 10s should be 9s. Even more of the 9s should be 8s.
Remember that these are external values, not internal. Loyalty deductions and contracts carrying over may still apply.
Having Hoare as a 9 off the bench will hurt Melbourne. Vukona as an 8 might impact his ability to test his value outside of NZ.
Cooper should be 7 rather than 8.

yea i think the only guys worth a 10 are Hodge, Ere, Anstey, Rickert, Worthington, Franklin, Ballinger, Penney and Bruton, the rest should be 9's or 8's i think maybe guys like Harvey and one or 2 names i may have missed could be 10's but id still have him as a 9
Guys like Peters, Muursepp and Chappell should be 8's at the highest, i guess it wont matter though as i dont think those guys will be returning.
I also think guys like Ng and Caporn and guys like that are a tad high also. Will be interesting to see if more appeals occur
C Schenscher (10)/Cooper (7)
F Ballinger (10)/Dodman (3)
F Holmes (9)/Tovey (6)
G Hodge (10)/Maher (5)
G Davidson (6)/Hill (2)
Total: 68
Probably the best lineup the Sixers can come up with...

How is Brett Maher a 10???
I thought there was a rule where if you still play for the club you started with you were a 5 by default???
Surely he is not ranked as a 10 anyway

See my note about external ratings vs internal ratings. His loyalty rating (I think it's a 2-3 point reduction now instead of a cap at 5) applies to create an internal rating.

C Schenscher (10)/Cooper (8)
PF Ballinger (10)/Dodman (3)
SF Holmes (8)/Hill (2)
SG Hodge (10)/Burdon (3)
PG Davidson (8)/Maher (7)
= 69 points,
if Maher is a 5 and/or they can get Schenscher or Cooper downgraded by a point that line up would fit, and looks like a decent line up to me.
Would people be happy with that line up???
I put Hill in instead of Tovey at SF because he is cheaper, he is from SA and his dad is the assistant coach so guessed it could be a good chance of him returning to the 36ers.
If they cant get someone downgraded id change Dodman, Burdon or Hill with a un tried 1 point rookie, maybe a michael Zorich or someone like that would be worth a 1 and be worth a shot to make it fit.
Not the deepest bench but id use Cooper off the bench to back up both big man spots for 20-30 mins and Maher off the bench to back up both guard spots for 20-30 mins and slide Hodge to SF when Holmes goes off so would have that as my main 7 man rotation, which i think is decent and Hill, Burdon and Dodman will get minutes here and there around 5-10 mins and if they show good form could force a 15min per game role for themselves.
It also has a good SA content with 6/10 being SA born, which would please many fans

We would get stomped by the Tigers with that line up.

Do we have to have 10 players?
could we run with 9 players (thwe 10th guy never plays anyway) and 2 rookies
I like Jonno line up minus Hill with 2 points would give us 67 point.
C Schenscher (10)/Cooper (8)
PF Ballinger (10)/Dodman (3)
SF Holmes (8)/
SG Hodge (10)/Burdon (3)
PG Davidson (8)/Maher (7)
Add 2 rookies as the 10th man for home games

would we?? how can we make it better?? What type of line up are the tigers going to have??
Say they get Aaron Bruce or Daniel Dillon to replace D-Mac and 2 new imports what would there team look like
C Anstey/Stiff
PF IMPORT/Hoare
SF Barlow/Greer
SG IMPORT/Corletto
PG Bruce or Dillon/Crosswell
Not sure if they would eb able to fit Hoare in off the bench as a 9 also?? unless he has a lower internal rating or something
I agree that line up would be a bit deeper than my suggested 36ers roster, but are Greer and Corletto and Crosswell really much better than say Hill, Burdon and Dodman, id only give the tigers a slight edge and Maher or Davidson off the bench would be better than any of the tigers bench players.
Plus if Hodge returns i cant see the Tigers getting a import better than him and they would be lucky to get someone who is equal to him which could give us an edge also.
I think my suggested line up using a main 7 man rotation would do quite well against the tigers line up above, assuming Schenscher plays to the standard of a 8-10 point player and the rest of the starters are injury free and in good form.

SO if Russell Hinder is an 8 Schensh should be rated an 8 or less because Hinder made the australian team ahead of him?? Isnt that just pure common sense?? Or am I trippin??

All imports are not 10.
thedoctor, I think Jonno's roster with someone else in place of Hill is probably about as good as they could hope to assemble. Who else could they get to pair with Cooper in the paint?
Melbourne are looking at running without imports which, when you think about it, is quite sneaky. Getting in two 9-10 point locals instead of imports deprives other teams of those key players. Say they took on Worthington in place of Lampley and Bruton in place of DT, that'd prevent two teams of picking up franchise locals.

Horvath a 10? the guy has been sacked and cut by his last 2 teams but still is one of the best in the league.
Tucker a 6, THAT is some handy points deduction right there as he is a 10 point player when he wants to be.
Barlow an 8? The guy was the starting 2 at the Worlds yet he is not amongst the best in the country according to the NBL?
Also i am guessing that the per minute stats dont take into effect say Cat who when fit is possible the most dominant player in the league yet he is not a 10 now as he is coming off an injury plagued season.
Are we the only sporting competition in the world with a points system for its players?. Its a absolute disgrace and a insult to the paying fan, whom will always be paying to see an inferior product with this system in place! Only in Australia!!! Its beyond a joke.
