Chicago Bulls

Is there something to finally look forward to for all the Bulls supporters after Jordans retirement? with the young players they have now i think a lot of other teams will be very worried in years to come. Deng, Heinrich, Duhon and Gordon are some pretty handy players, add to that Curry and Chandler it look very, very good in the next few years.

My bet is they will trade players who are doing well, like they have done many other years (Eg. Jalen Rose). As a beloved bulls fan, I definantly hope they try and keep a team, and not try to rebuild every bloody year.

I know, the two Jerry's need to go, and be replaced with Jerry West. Oh well, we will have to wait and see what they do. But like I said, they better not trade the good players away, for more role players like they did with Jalen Rose, Elton Brand etc etc

Indeed, the Bulls have traded players away that would nearly be a championship team. Including:

Brad Miller
Ron Artest
Elton Brand
Jalen Rose
Donyell Marshall

I blame it on Jordan, a bit harsh, but if he stayed on as an Assistant after he retired, i think the Bulls would still be a force. He would have wooed some big names to the windy city.

Blame MJ? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. It is the responsibility of the owner of the bulls at the time (who ever that is/was). It was nobody else's fault. In their last years at Chicago:

Artest - 15ppg and almost 3SPG
Miller - 12 PPG and 8 rebounds Brand - 20ppg and over 10 RPG

Why trade away these guys??? All three players were under 25 years of age at the 2000-2001 season. Right there, you have your team - if they stayed together, they would be a playoff team. MJ didnt have to lure these players to Chicago. They were already there. The bulls just blew the opportunity. Lets hope they dont do it again with the quality young guys they have now.

Trading Brand whos a poor mans Karl Malone was the worst move theyve done period

In the right team, I think Brand could be better. But the clippers are not a good side. I wonder how good he could be if he played for a playoff team

Dont forget Jamal Crawford and Jay Williams?

When i said it maybe MJ's fault, meaning it was up to him.

If he left so would Jackson and Pippen and Rodman.

My proposition was MJ, if he wanted to retire, to become assistant to Phil, which would have made Pippen stay, and then the Bulls could start rebuilding.

Let's try that again with some content!

You guys obviously don't follow the Bulls too much - firstly, Jerry Reinsdorf is still the owner, while Jerry Krause has been gone for about two years as GM, being replaced by John Paxson.

Let's face it, Jordan staying in Chicago would have done what??? Nothing, when Phil said it was done, that was it. Sure the Bulls have traded some good players, but having a good player or two doesn't mean the team will be that great or that is where management want to take the team in the future. I think the above mentioned players have all shown that there are good reasons for why they have gone to other teams. Jamal Crawford was a ball hog for a PG and we have Kirk who is far superior in all aspects of the game, and we have also picked up what appears to be a true point guard in Chris Duhon. Jay Williams if you remember rightly was injured very badly in a motorbike accident and as far as I know has not recovered enough to hit the floor - I caan't even find him listed anywhere.

Yes, I guess we all hope that the Bulls keep the current team together as they have shown in such little time together, a very promising future, much more promising than before. I personally think the two clean outs or so were necessary as they traded for players etc but it just didn't work out. Skiles seems to be getting great stuff out of the players and they are starting to gel. So far they've shown faith in Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler. I do think that there will be future trades as some of the vets in Antonio Davis etc move on so we can get some more established players to compliment the fantastic youth we have in Hinrich, Duhon, Deng, Gordon, Nocioni etc Go Bulls!

Its Simple get rid of Davis and play Curry and Chandler! Curry is a offensive maching and Chandler rips down boards.

If only they kept- Jamal crawford, artest, brand, miller, rose, eddie robinson (joke).

The only good moves the bulls have made over the years was trade jamal craford for chris Mihm on draft day..... too bad they got rid of him he will be an allstar next season.

Curry and Chandler are definitely not the answer. The other youngsters look great, but these 2 footers were the play a few years back to be the backbone of the new team and they've done zilch. Curry is a banger with a bad attitiude, and Chandler is too soft to do anything within 20 feet. The hope was for Curry to be the new Shaq and Chandler the new Garnett but neither has really developed their game.

One of them has to go, I'd trade Chandler for Kwame Brown. The change of scenary could be good for each player. They're similar guys that haven't shownt their full potential yet. Curry has better potential as a post scorer which is what the Bulls need, btu Chandler can go.

Certainly the Bulls have traded away alot of good players for what amounts to magic beans. Their old GM was insane but his replacement has quietly gone about building a nucleus of young talented players.

I think this team needs to play together without any major changes for 1-2 years and they will be considerably improved. They have been giving 4 rookies considerable minutes this season and Heinrich is only a 2nd year player.

They still as a team commit too many turnovers, which should improve as their rookie mistakes are minimized.

Both Chandler and Curry play a similar sort of game, and dont complement each other well. They have been playing well tag team but the need a PF who can consistantly nail a midrange jumper.

I think Heinrich/Gordon/Deng will be a very good core in a few years. Nocioni is a great pickup and while I'm not sure he'll work his way into a starting role is fantastic instant offense off the bench and fantastic rebounding from the 3 spot.

Mark, how can you say their old GM (Jerry Krause) was insane?

Besides being a mean dancer (check some old footage - this guy was Idol material!), he assembled arguably the greatest team in history .... and then reinvented it again for Jordan's second time around. Tough yes, insane no.

the bulls did have one good trade this year, getting deng from i think phoenix for a future 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder from this year and cash. Deng looks to be a very very good player. In the last 2 years they have got close to the best 2 guards to come out of college in heinrich and gordon. i think paxson is the answer.

Curry and Chandler play the same sort of game - do you have idea what you are talking about. Their playing styles are poles apart.

Curry is a lazy but gifted inside player and Chandler is a hustler who is still finding his feet offensively.

I'm sure if you do your research you'll find out how different they are and how young. Good bigs take until their late 20's to develop give these guys some more time and they will put Chicago back on the map hoops-wise.

Curry and Chandler both play the same sort of offensive game because they both play on the low block, causing congestion down low.

moses : since the jordan era he has traded away more future allstars than any other GM by far.
