they will have to re schedule - as if they play rounds at starplex and dome - some teams will have results and some not.

It is a wise decision to cancel and reschedule.

In Senior News section:

Due to the excessive heat over the past week, the timing rules for the senior district games on the night of Wednesday March 12 will be applied. This includes an officials' time out at the half way point of each quarter if a time out has not already been called, and an extra minute's break at quarter, half and three quarter time.

Its a very good idea, played last night and the heat is pretty draining, especially if you arent running with a deep bench.

Also makes for some convenient time outs for coaches without having to use their own!

Its a little bit sad that there are more social stadiums that are air conditioned than district ones. Another short coming of the local district compition.

It may be sad but I say hats off to BSA for actually making the decision to cancell the games.

Early call on Friday games would be appreciated for the country kids.

Are you serious, Hats off to a summer sporting organization that runs indoor stadiums without air conditioners and has no plans to introduce them.

All games should be cancelled - even ABA this wekend. This is an unusual situation with so many days of heat and the stadiums have no air flow, the heat built up is intense within the stadiums. Health and safety first.

Due to on-going heat all Friday night junior district games except those at air conditioned venues (the Dome and Starplex) have been cancelled.

(#177751)I take it you would still bag them if they didn't cancel the games?

Damned if they do; damned if they don't!

My opinion is that it was a smart and sensible decision to not play games tonight due to the heat.

Having said that, if they are cancelled, and not merely rescheduled, then the whole season is a joke. A great deal of effort (smartly) was put into "equalising" the season into 2 complete rounds (18 games for most div 1's, 22 for most div 2s etc.), now if that is thrown out the window in round 2, it is pretty unfair and undoubtably will screw at least one team come the end of the season.

These games MUST be replayed at a later date.
