Townsville defeat 6ers

Adelaide went down 107-110 today.

Farley had 35, including 18 in the 3rd, and Dusty went 1 assist shy of a triple double.

Rose was top scorer for Townsville with 21, with quite a few others around him scoring well (Newley had 20 from memory).

Isaac will have his usual concise report up later no doubt :)

i went to the game and there was no need for farley to fade away on his last 3.

jacob holmes = overrated missing 2 critical foul shots

The 3 was fine, just didn't go in. If it wasn't for the horrid free throw shooting we could have pulled it out.

All in all a gutsy effort from the fellas. Only seven players seeing action (and no back up guard) one and half days after the last game and following travelling from New Zealand is far from ideal. They looked tired and sluggish, didn't play well, but almost won the damn thing!

Farley was nothing short of an inspiration. His passion and drive to win was almost the differnce.

I dont think you can determine based upon 2 missed free throws that someone is overrated. Particularly when that so called overrated player has just stepped up to cover the absence of Brett Maher to the tune of 18 points and X rebounds where X is a large number. Fed Farley the ball and took some critical d boards down the stretch.

Take your head out of the sand you idiot.

if was the whole team effort on free throws. That was just not good enough, dropping short, bouning off some of them never looked like going in. That said congrads to willie he was the team today and its a shame his effort could not have been celebrated. Just hope brett can get back soon and provide some stability, if not we need a much more polished close game to get over the hawks. Is mee back in time?

Umm...when did Dusty choke??

20 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 steals, 1 block, 40:51 mins, 8/19 FG, 4/9 FT...hardly a choke.

Unless you were referring to Jacob Holmes missing the free throws right at the end.

dusty was pretty darn good, his only realy blemish was the free throw shooting overall but not on the final play. I think he had some near the end and split them but is was the teams free throw shooting that cost the game not really an individuals.

If Rychart choked his dunk in the first quarter, did "vunderkinder" Newley choke his three pointer attempt from the corner in the last few minutes???????

i thought the crocs got away with too much man handling during the game - farleys minder was running down the court holding him and the bloke with the head band litterally tackled cooper with 1 sec left rebounding the free throws just before half time.

we were way too lose on robertson - too many easy points / drives

I agree -- a lot of spoiled defensive rebounds that could've been called fouls, and aggressive boxing out on free throws.

Also, we were definitely missing a guard on defense all night, and Robertson was a real difference out there. Williams would've been helpful. That was Robertson's season high by 5 points. In 2004/05 and against Adelaide prior to that game, he was averaging 4.5 PPG.

Shooting 62% from the line aint good. That is where they lost it. And Jabob's only misses were the last 2. He hit 6 in a row. Too much pressure??? He should have hit at least one to tie the game.
