Lightning to retire Sporn's number?

Hasn't been reported much at this stage but I have been told that Rachel Sporn's uniform number will be retired at the final home minor round game on 15th February at The Dome. I'm not aware of any other WNBL side that has retired a player's number. This is an incredible honour for Rachel and I believe that ALL basketball fans in Adelaide should attend the game and show their appreciation to Rachel.
Rachel is one of the finest ambassador's for women's basketball with a record at the State, National and International level that speaks for itself. Rachel is also one of the finest people that you could ever meet.
Show your support and be there on the 15th February.

Giraffe84 - My apologies for incorrectly spelling Rachael's first name. I stand corrected. Just as a point of interest are you aware that Rachael's name is actually pronounced RACIAL and NOT RACHEL?

I HOPE THAT AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ATTEND WHAT WILL BE A SPECIAL OCCASION.

FRIDAY 15TH FEBRUARY - TIP OFF AT 7.30PM

Show some respect ANON12, it's Giraffe85, not 84 !
Are you taking the piss ANON12?

Can't say I ever heard her introduce herself as racial.... Sounds like someone with a speech impediment.

Giraffe85. It was not meant to be a joke or 'take the piss' out of you or anyone. It is the correct pronunciation of her name which can be confirmed by many people. Rachael is just too polite to correct people all the time. I think you will find that the former Lightning court announcer would always pronounce the name correctly as it had been pointed out to him by some Lightning team mates and also Rachael's family.
