Highest and Lowest Paid NBA Players

I was just wondering what the highest and lowest paid NBA players are. What is minimum wage and what is maximum? How much do rookies tend to get paid? Would be interesting to know.

Minimum is dependent on how long you have been in the league. Min for a rookie is around 350k, but for a vet it gets up to around 1 million.

Salary for a rookie is dependent on what spot they were drafted in. Greg Oden will earn about 4.5 mill this year (all for not playing a single game), while second round guys and free agent rooks, like I said, earn around 350k.

Actually, LeBron appears to be a bargain too!

Shaq has 2 years left at that price.
that seemed like a bargain for the first few years
but now it should be half that.

Dwight Howard ???????

Howard is in the final year of his rookie contract and is receiving $6M this year. However he has already signed a 5-year extension which will start at about $14M next season and increase every year by about 10% to finish at about $20M. The exact figures are tied to the team salary cap.

afro, Raef occasionally plays for Portland. He actaully put up some good numbers - 13/8 in his first couple of years, then Dallas went and signed him to a 7 year, $70m deal. The rest, is history.

Mahatma Cote, you're right about Shaq. This is exactly why the Lakers decided to trade him instead of extending him. The Heat got one title as a result of acquiring him but at what cost? Their future doesn't look so bright anymore and it all came crashing down very quickly. The Lakers, after three titles with Shaq, did the smart thing. They saw the writing on the wall while Pat Riley wanted the title immediately.

Remember that some of those guys are on their max (which varies depending what year they were drafted).

J O'Neal, Kidd, Iverson, Marbury, Baron, Marion, Jamison, Nowitzki, Pierce, Amare, Yao, Melo, Wade, LBJ and Bosh are all on the max for their draft year AFAIK.

Isaac i initially did mark him over but i dunno i dont think he's worth terribly less than $11m, not as far out of whack as Shaq and Cassell anyway

What's the possiblity of a new player to the NBA, who happens to be in his early 30's, getting paid to the tune of 15 mill or plus, for that matter, who has returned to the states with a past professional career overseas? Assuming the player can shoot 3's nearly half court, and is in top physical shape. We are up in arms arguing the likelihood and unlikelihood of this happening this millenium. I mean, really, it seems a player walking away with a purse that size would have to play damn near like Anthony sight unseen??!! Ya just don't start out with your pockets dragging the ground until you have contributed something??

I'm sorry, but one person making any of those figures is ridiculous...No wonder there is a lockout now... Too many greedy people and not enough who just want to play ball...No everyone suffers and teams make losses every year

This list is way wrong, Kobe gets at least 25 million, and KG gets about 21 and jermaine o'neal gets only a couple of million now.
