Early ABA 08 Predictions

I know its real early (when does the season start???) but after seeing some of the youngsters play in the offseason, who do we think will win it this year for the men?

I think it'll be a battle of the flames, eagles and rockets again with norwood winning this time.

Wollicot- Dusty
u/21- Molitor

Other vets who will have a good yr.. Matthews, pilkington, cooper, oakley, Dan Thompson, sullivan, scanlon, Krause.

"Youngsters" who will have a good year..
Lalic, Gerlach, Spud, E Burdon, McKay, Ng Doddman, Mapuda. And Papendieck and Madgen, if they play. Anyone know if they are???

I have heard North, but know for a fact that Rychart is coming back, so have no idea how it could work.
If not may end up at a lower club due to the top teams having full/quality rosters.

Expect the Centrals women to be as good, or better than last ABL season ...

Forestville must have found ways around the salary cap.

Forestville is an amateur status club - hence no one gets paid ...

Um, In The Know, you may have celebrated New Year too early - to my knowledge Eastern Mavs will have a womens side...

...and Norwood will finish above Southern.

"Lions to finish above 500 for the first time in 9 years."

Not sure if you are talking about men or women but I'm guessing if you added the two together you still wont get 500

Southern wont get that high up and i expect norwood to fight with southern for the finals, too many of last years players missing for Norwood, unless they can make a few good recruits it will be tough. Also it may come down to who's younger players play well if they play

North will be a bit higher and west finish infront of Eagles.

Southern "players" (men) to blame the coach again for poor performances. The players have to continue the tradition shown by the Tigers teams since 2000. And I will make that a prediction also for 2009.
