Guess it depends on how you define a draft bust - Bowie averaged 11 and 8 in his career which is far better than most in the list. Really more of a draft mistake where they could've got better (in hindsight) rather than a bust as a player IMO.
Olowokandi with poorer averages as a #1 pick makes a good case for worse perhaps?
Maybe Pervis Ellison?

Damn, can't check out the list from my work computer. Reason given...

Is this article about NBA failures or the best WNBA players revealing their busts?

It's by Sports Illustrated. So yeah, swimsuits are around the place.

Derrick Coleman is fair enough if you are talking about a bust player or an all dog team , If you are judging GM's then you can not go too hard on who ever drafting a superlative yet completely slovenly DC . The guy had so much talent but thought taking some shots before games was done at the local bar instead of stadium .

If Joe Smith is on the list, is it too early to put Bogut on there? Not as a bad player but as a bust at number 1.
DonĀ“t talk to me about number of shots. Magic Johnson said it best: "If he was good enough, they would get him the ball."
Boguts 11 points and 8 rebounds (Sam Bowie anyone)
Joe Average 12 and 7 over fifteen years

Just looked up on Wiki a bit about Bowie. He was chosen out of High School to play in the 1980 Olympic squad and talks about the guilt of being paid so much that he came back from injury to early to his own detriment.

Dajuan Wagner was a MAJOR BUST! He is still in the NBA and can still prove himself, but everybody thought he was the next MJ. In high school he was scoring 45-50 ppg and scored 100 points in one match!. But now, he doesnt even get on!

Personally I thought Bender (Billy Fikes' cousin) wasn't one of the worst, however Olowakandi definately is..
I like to bag Smith, but he has carved out not too bad a career..

At one point in this life, Sam Bowie was a more valuable basketball player than Jordan. How many people can say that!
Wilt Chamberlain can't say that. well not these days anyway. He aint sayin much these days...

Wagner was injured not long after making NBA which pretty much screwed him, and when he was 100% he wasn't given that much responsibility, so he never really got a shot to take off

And as soon as he came back from injury some guy called LeBron was getting all the attention.

Wagner wasn't just injured, he was very ill - he had his entire colon surgically removed. Not fair to call him a draft bust, he played well his rookie season before his health problems began.
