AFL Draft

im really, really pissed off today... which means im a crows supporter of course, we couldve had Ebert and Greenwood, the two best local players in the draft and instead we have Dangerfield who will be in a school uniform next year instead of a crows guernsey and Jarhhan Jacky (nothing against him but hes no greenwood)

We got two picks right: Andy Otten, a tall fwd/midfielder kind of like Ryan O'Keefe or Matthew Bate, averaged like 26pos. and 9mks in the TAC cup.
and Tony Armstrong, small, running defender from NSW.

As for Pt.Adelaide, im surprised they passes on Greenwood as well at 28 but they obviously have high hopes for Motlop.

Melbourne were the big winners of this draft getting Cale Morton, Jack Grimes and Addam Maric.

Poor, poor effort Crows.

Its Andy Otten.....considering they have different surnames, it would be safe to say they are not related.

Cant believe David Gourdis went undrafted. He is 194cm and the quickest player at the draft camp since Pearce. He also smashed the vertical leap record. Was touted as a top 20 pick.

Xztatik,

As a fellow Crows supporter you have to put your faith in the recruiting guys. Only time will tell if passing on Ebert & Greenwood was the right way to go.

They do a lot of homework on these kids to try & minimize their chances of errors being made, although I must admit that I too would prefer to see them take local talent so we don't get another Meesen or Fergus Watts situation where just as the player is maturing they want to go home to Victoria.

Apparently the recruiting guys place a "weighting" on SA talent so I can only hope that Dangerfield is not related to Rodney & we dont witness the triple lindig in action at Footy Park in a few years time.

i think we might already have another watts/meesen situation, dangerfield isnt even leaving VIC to come here for another year lol. youre right, it hasnt yet been proven that they made the wrong choices but unfortunately i think it will be in a few years.
