Where are the Centrals U16 Girls?

Why is there no teams for Central District Under 16 girls? Only one in div 1 that hasnt played a game yet - forfeited both? does anyone know whats happening?

Nothing about it on sporting pulse. i hope you don't have to play them at home and find out when you get there, that the game is a forfeit!

They couldn't manage to get enough girls on the court last season so what makes you think an extra 5-6 girls in the northern suburbs all of a sudden want to play ball for centrals this season?

This club has some big issues out North. The under 16 girls situation at centrals has been a disgrace for a couple of seasons now.

The controlling body (who ever that is these days) needs to step in and bar them from nominating another 16 1 girls side again until they can actually get enough kids to commit for a season.

Centrals got on here pretty quick a few months ago talking up what a good financial position they are in.

Well get on here now and start talking up what you plan to do about stuffing up the draw for the U16 1's for the last couple of seasons. Shame on them for making the 16 1 girls draw a shambles 2 years running.

The saving grace is that at least 70% of the existing comp doesn't have to travel half way to Whyalla to hand out a thrashing to them!

If they really are in such a great financial position then how about letting kids actually trial for free?

Don't get me wrong, not here to defend centrals rather Basketball. It is a shame that they are struggling in the North and players most likely drawn to the strong clubs like Norwood and North not helping. Look at the other end of town. A strong competitive club just 3 years ago Southern is only a year or two away from being like centrals.
Parents on the committee looking after Johny have destroyed southern and many other clubs. Most Southern teams will not even give a good warmup scrimage this season.... because of parents and the Committee. But they are not to blame. If not where is the fault. Much like centrals.... if no-one is the blame.. where is the fault. If there is no fault nothing needs fixing. No under 16 in Centrals this year..... none in a couple of southern clubs in two years time.
Lets not pick on the club.... we know the fault... result is basketball SA looses........

Centrals have some issues, one commitee member in particular feels that you gotta put a div1 team in every age group no matter what (aint that right GM?)! The poor kids get pummelled year after year, but they stand together and declare their loyalty to the club. The parents stand by their kids and encourage them not to give up and try to instil a feeling of reponsibility into the kids. But then, as the kids get a bit older they hear stories from other clubs, they hear that things dont always have to be the way they have always been done. Thats when they start to drift away.
The kids (the players) have to be commended for putting up with all the crap, still showing up week after week, training, playing their best, trying their hardest against stronger teams, never giving up. These kids are fantastic and an example to be admired.
It's a shame that adults with stupid personal agendas and old fashioned ideas continue to let them down.

who stuffed centrals girls? The committee only interested in the mens team. Isn't that right Mullins + Martin - what ever ricky wants. Give men everything shit on the women as long as the men look good.
