Yes the killer cross over was an awesome move.

Still the best move I have ever seen was by Dr. J when he was trapped behind the backboard and palmed the ball and layed it up on the other side.

There is no bigger signature move than the Sky Hook. Don't even have to name the player and everyone knows who you mean.

Worst of all time - Karl Malone's hand on the head lay-up/dunk. Great moment when Hakeem swatted one into the crowd.

Shawn Kemp alley.... Devastating

Jordan double clutch layup.

Jordan fade away

Jordan game winner

George Gervin finger roll

I agree with the Doc - the hand behind the head move was bad. Looked like he was doing ballet.
What about dunkers? The best I have seen:
1. MJ
2. Dr. J
3. Dominique
4. Kemp
5. Clyde the glyde
Kobe, Carter and Daryl Dawkins unlucky to not make my list...

Chris Blakemore jump hook. What ever happend to that guy?

Butch Hays goose step. This move needs to be used more.

Mark Davis goal tend. Let your man beat you then spike it into row F. Nice!

Jason Dix up and under move. He's the excitement machine! Can't wait for him to suit up again this season.

What about Kevin Brooks' through the legs and back again for the pull-up jumpshot?

Farley would have to have the best crossover in the NBL right now (low and broad), though there isn't a heap of competition in that area.

KB's move is/was awesome, the number of times defenders got tricked/stuck on that one :-)

Farley's crossover's look nice but he doesnt seem to use them to his advantage (ie the space it can create) he just seems to do it to get himself excited, in the zone or to show off :-) Still it looks good and when he hits the J it works :-)

Ron Nunnelly (not sure on spelling) Backdoor cut! He used to kill the CBL back in the day, and roll for 70, 80+. With his little giggle as he pulled another one off. he he he!

Kent Brockman

I think he was laughing because he played off his nut most off the time

Reply #14943 | Report this post

nunnerly scored many points cause he hung round half court and scored fast breaks very accurate shooter but he wasn't sure what the defence end of the floor looked like look at his career stats in cba and you'll find his offensive boards are more than double his defensive ones

Mark Davis' Triple/Quadruple step post move followed by a throw against the backboard, just to follow up his own shot, and then the put back.

What about local comp signature moves? Mine would have to be Sean Houston - (who played for Southern in 2002/2003 ABA season) - about 5 seconds into the game a huge pull up three from deep in the front court. Pulled this off a few times i think.

Any other local moves that wont be forgotten?

AI's cross over was only good because of who it was against, if you know what I mean. He didn't even really burn him. MJ still had a hand on the shot.

Hardaway's X-overs left his opponent standing straight up, and him laughing as he layed it up.

Hardaway's x-over re-invited this move and made all young players trying to burn their opposition with a killer x-Over.

Kevin Johnson (suns) basline drive and dunk over Ewing (nicks)in the 90's ... he took off outside the key and was almost horizontal (to the rim) when he jammed it in on a very surprised 7'ft Patrick!

John Stark's did a similar one .. forget who on ??

Here's some signature moves I like:

Craig Ehlo's, where he used to dot the 'i' in Craig by drawing a basketball;

Robert Parrish's: apparently he wore 00 because he had dyslexia and couldn't write any other number after his signature without stuffing it up;

Forum contributor Manute Bol's, where he uses the 'l' in Bol to draw a tall skinny stick figure which is obviously meant to be him.

They're all classic signature moves.
