Tonight 36ers Crowd

What do you reckon the crowd will be like at tonights 36ers game? Seeing as we have an exiting new team and its opening night I reckon we'll get a crowd of 5,500. Maybe even more.

I think you're wrong.

4500 if they are lucky. Lack of advertisting / awareness and the footy is on tonight.

Same story different season....

I wouldn't be unhappy with 4,500 - same reasons as above.

I think somewhere in the 4500-5000 region would be a good figure first up. Any less would probably be disappointing, any more would be considered a bonus IMO.

Also junior finals are being played to night, that could limit the crowd even more.

How does the Sixers advetising, publicity etc this pre-season compare to last pre-season? Has it got worse?

Ok, so we may not see a huge crowd tonight but I reckon we can expect some pretty big crowds through-out the season.

Can anyone tell me what the true reason the 36'ers are so poor at promoting their package. The season starts every year just after the show. I would have thought it would have been a perfect time to promote the club (a show bag etc.) Also, I think it is time the players started going out REGULARLY to junior trainings. If basketball is going to grow in this state it's going to start growing by getting the name and the faces out there.

Just got home & I'm guessing between 4500 to 5000.
The major positive, was the atmosphere. Literally a breath of fresh air. You could sense that they like this team.
Good times ahead.

Same with last season, the crowd looked bigger than the attendance said, perhaps people are getting in without swiping there tickets or something.

Boti Nagy - "the biggest and most expectant opening night crowd in four years". I find it very hard to believe 4,126 is the biggest home opener in 4 years. Where did you get "4126" from, Hood 66 and Hoop Addict? How many people were at last season opener vs Sydney?

4126 is correct.

I am sure there was more than that for the first game last season tho.

Good crowd I thought, On a friday night, later game so some families with little ones might not be willing to go, and the football on, junior finals. Not to bad.

Would like to see more promotion though, I know a great Marketing Manager if they are looking for one....:)

Definitely wasn't a big crowd - my guess was high 3s, low 4s when I arrived - loads of empty corporate seats opposite the team benches that have been full in past seasons. Hopefully some wins build the numbers.
