best way to Albury

Hi everyone,

what is the best way to Albury for high school nationals?

(by road)

via malleee hwy (lameroo, pinaroo) and swan hill along murray

or

dukes hwy (bordertown) accross back of western vitoria (donald, charlton etc) and join hume hwy around violet town

the sturt hwy via mildura / balranald and come down (that seems the longest and indirect)

I am sure some of you out there have done the trip

the best way I have found - and have been there a few times is through Pinarroo - Ouyen to Piangil - then instead of Swan Hill go over the river to Tooleybuc - Moulamein - Deniliquin - Finlay - Albury. The scenery is not as good and the road to Moulamein is not flash but i think this way is at least an hour quicker maybe 90 mins.

1) Drive to Murray Bridge
2) Rent houseboat
3) Point houseboat upstream
4) Travel until reaching Albury

This is not necessarily quick, but it would be bloody enjoyable.
