The Australian men's basketball team has defeated Turkey 101-93 in Instanbul overnight in the first of two international "friendlies".
With scores tied after three quarters of play, a late surge by the Boomers ensured victory by eight points.
South Australian Brad Newley top scored for the Boomers with 21 points while National Basketball League MVP Sam Mackinnon and young gun Patrick Mills added 17 points each in support.
NBA All-Star Mehmet Okur scored 28 points to lead Turkey.
