The Southern Tigers Basketball Association is seeking the services of a (2) Junior Coaching Director Boys and Girls Program for the 2007/2008 season of the Basketball SA (BSA) District competition for their Junior Program. The Southern Tigers Basketball Association was formed from a merger of two (BASA) member clubs that were operating in the same geographic area south of Adelaide, the Noarlunga City Tigers Basketball Club and the Adelaide Southern Suns Basketball Club.
We are one of the ten member clubs of BSA and have a strong tradition of success at both junior and senior levels. The club is based at Morphett Vale, South Australia, and plays and trains out of a four court stadium in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide in South Australia.
There are 45 Southern Tigers teams competing in the junior BSA competition, from Under 10's to Under 20's with our junior programs focusing on skill development, positive attitude and participative experience.
The Southern Tigers also have eleven teams entered in the senior BSA competition, with two teams participating in the Australian Basketball League (Central Conference).
Key aspects of the role are as follows:
" DEVELOP a coaching program in conjunction with the Basketball Operations & Development Manager to enhance the skills of all STBA junior players and coaches.
" IMPLEMENT the strategies of the junior coaching program.
" MONITOR and evaluate the progress of players and coaches development.
" LIAISE and continually consult with the appropriate position holders within the club.
" SUPERVISE and conduct the process of two annual external trials.
" COMMUNICATE with the SAPSASA, State Metro/Country and SASI coaches on issues relating to the club program and team selections.The ability to work closely with our Junior Coaching Directors
" REPRESENT the club in a professional manner and ensure all players, coaches and parents
" IDENTIFY and target talented juniors and bring onto the STBA program
