Funny Marino signs with Lightning

Angela Marino will suit for the Lightning this season.

"From my point of view I know I could have gone elsewhere and played more," she said.

"But you reach a point sometimes where it would be better to have a role and earn your court-time in a better team than just playing a lot."

Although I am not the greatest fan of hers, in a reduced role off the bench I think she will be a handy pick up, as long as she stands by her comments in The Advertiser about finding a role and not trying to get the same amount of shots up in limited court time.

Makes for a very deep backcourt rotation.

I know there will be people that will bagg her for this, however i think its great news. I think she is really thinking about her future out of basketball as well, her studies are very important to her, she's closer to family, and she'll be paying in a team that should win the grand final. Adelaide should be happy too as she has proved that she is a competetive player in this league. and will be very handy coming off the bench. Great decision!

Anything less then a GF win would be an under achievement. I know the season hasn't started and anything can happen but please look at the caliber of players we have compared to other teams. We are way out in front of them all. It is a matter to see if we gel as a group (I see no reason we shouldn't) and stay out of injury worries but the group is arguably the best groups Adelaide has put together. Looking forward to getting season tickets this year!

i dont have an indepth understanding on Chris' style of coaching, but have heard he can be a bit soft. This list is awesome and needs a strong minded coach that demands team play etc. I wish all the best to Chris and hope he can gel this team. I just think that a Gary Fox would be awesome. He would not take any crap and he knows his stuff (espescially when it comes to defence)

Its going to be big trouble and Chris wont handle it. Camino is a great player but vshe likes to be the star and so does Marino. Camino caused big trouble in Townsville.

Its a shame that such a great teamwill end up in a bitch fight to see who stars the most!!!

May lose them a grand final if they are not careful. MArino has spat the dummy with Chris before when she didnt get the court time. Its going to be interesting

daddy's little girl has just got her own way again. have a look at the talent around the place, and you cant tell me that angela is the best person to help out Vic as she's coming back from surgery. Angela can shot...if she's on, but thats it. she is not an all round player. she struts around thinking she's all that, but she's no where up to scratch when it comes to the lightning roster. big big mistake chris. grow some balls and stand up to marino.

He was given a White Elephant 3 years ago and now the Lightning will be a force.
