Boomers: Four Nations Tournament

The Boomers development crew are in China at present and tip-off in the Four Nations Tournament this evening.

I believe their first game is against Croatia.

If anyone finds results/stats online, post away.

This is the group organising it: Infront Sports Asia - the tournament location is listed as "Xiao Lan, Xing Hui, Fe Shan". Fe Shan seems to be a city within Xing Hui (could be Foshan?), itself within Guang Dong (what many would know as Canton).

Talked with Oscar just before and he thinks they're in Jiangmen (nearby?).

Xiao Lan may be the name of the stadium.

Didn't Cold Chisel leave their hearts to the sappers 'round Fe Shan?

Bo, you're like whack-a-mole. Never know when you're going to pop up, but when you do, everyone's going to want to hit you.

Are you sure they are not in Wei-Do-Ping and after the game they are likely to travel to Yai-Wei-Won

I like the fact that one of the players doesn't know for sure where he is.

Any chance Oscar can take orders and load up on some genuine imitation goods straight from the factory?

Having been there more than a handful of times since he was 9, he might have more of an idea than the rest of them too!

He said the area seems to specialise in light factories, so unless you want to go up against some kind of light fixture warehouse, I'm not sure he'll be able to strike up any useful deals.

That region of China (well, maybe more to the East?) is a belt of factory-oriented cities - each region specialises in a different class of product. Shame the tournament isn't in the LCD DVR TV district!

I think they're about 1-2 hours behind us, so probably can't expect a result until later tonight.

I like the name of the company promoting it: Infront. It's that kind of cool broken translation where you know the guys who came up with it said "yeah, it means you're a leader".

Rejected names:

Wayahead Sports Asia
Pacesetter Sports Asia
Daylightsecond Sports Asia
Secondisfirstplacedloser Sports Asia

(And to avoid future detection, I think I may have stumbled on my new pseudonym, too)

Well, I hope they do well, especially Oscar cause we need him in good shape when he gets back here, so he can help the heat win their semi final and then their final.

I am surprised that this team (almost an Australian C team)beat Croatia, normally a very strong Basketball team. Have they not got all their stars at the tournament? Worthington was second top scorer, he is one of the big improvers in Australian basketball. He sort came from nowhere and continually surprises. Go Australia!!

None of the countries in the tournament are fielding their best squads. e.g., China are without Yao, Yi and Yue, but do have Wang Zhizhi, Li Nan, Liu Wei and Shipeng who was the MVP of their CBA comp I think.

17 beats Oscar's previous International best of 15. Said he had 4/5 threes, a jumpshot and a three-point play on a fast break.

If anyone finds a boxscore or site for the tournament, yell out.

I have searched the web and can't find any detailed information about this game. What age do we live in again?
