Norths won the national U14 last year with big chunk of this team. They are a big club in Sydney and well coached at the junior level. They have a big team, one guy is 6'6 i have heard. They are undefeated in the Sydney competition so far this season. Their U14 this year look just as strong as last.

I reffed the semi between Dandenong and Northern Suburbs that went into overtime. It was an awesome game with numerous changes in momentum.

Dandenong hit a clutch 3 to lead by 2 with 3.7 secs left in regulation. Northern called a time out, to advance the ball to half court.

On the ensuing play Dandenong failed to guard the Northern SF that went baseline for a drifting 12 ft jumper almost from behind the backboard - SWISH!

Pandemonium!

Dandenong failed to score at all in overtime.

Both sides had some kids with massive talent.

Norths played consistent tough and uncomplicated basketball. They had few structured plays and effectively neutralised advantages of more fancied opponents through hard work. Their PG had a big influence on all games even when he wasn't scoring like he did in the final (27 pts). Norths had great crowd support and were worthy winners. Bit surprising the opposing coaches did not do more to keep him quiet.

Yer Melbourne stayed in their changing front zone most of the game. If they must of stayed in a zone maybe they should have gone to a box in 1. Northerns guard must have had 25 + pts.

i watched most of the northern suburbs games and most teams did play a box and one on northern sububrs guard. But he still had influence not by scoring but dishing out to his role players. They had very few structured plays but they seemed to rely on the gaurds individuality to create

The one team that managed to contain him was dandenong in the semi. With intense help D they managed to pick up 4 2nd quarter fouls of the guard which threw norths out a little..
