but at least Atlanta keep their pick instead of sending it to the Suns.

Atlanta now hold the 3rd and 11th pick.

Boston will be awash in tears and now Memphis would be the capital of suicide.

At least my cats didn't drop. Fingers crossed Brewer will still be there at 8.

That`s ####ing it!!! I have been thinking about it a while now - i`m becoming a Bobcats fan - Minny have burned off any goodwill with me... This was their last chance... Not their fault (not gettin 1 or 2) but just about everything else that is wrong with that roster is...

Go Cats... Go the Herrmannator!!!

Welcome aboard Johnny... nice to see someone else appreciates the claw.

I seriously thought that two eastern conference teams may of got 1 and 2, purely to try and bring the strength of the East up.

1 and 2 are going West and both to the same conference.

Gonna make all-star voting for the Centre position interesting in the West.

Happy for Atlanta, I wanted them to get the 2nd, but at least the pick is theirs to cock up now.

Very good point Isaac, must give the sixers more chance of getting him here.

If Newley leaves and we get Schensh we go big very quickly and then have room to bring in a Newley import replacement which is esier to do than a 7ft import

So if a pre-condition to having a happy Oden is Conley - i guess Portland is a decent place... they have the peices to swing a trade for him wherever he goes - question is how much he`s gonna cost... (BTW - i think that whole thing is just hot air... when push comes to shove and $$$ it will be conveniently forgotten...)... And Minnesota are stupid enough to take Miles in a trade - so why not (if they get Conley - ignoring salary matching...)...

Two of the most stylish players in the League... Adam Morrison with his 70`s woodstock/porn dude look and Walter "The Most Beautiful Man In The World (Fabio)" Herrmann with his ponytail...

And a solid no nonsense up-and-coming roster... plus i like the strip...

Those odds again:

1. Portland 32-50 5.3%
2. Seattle 31-51 8.8%
3. Atlanta 30-52 11.9%
4. Memphis 22-60 25.0%
5. Boston 24-58 19.9%
6. Milwaukee 28-54 15.6%
7. Minnesota 32-50 5.3%

How ripped off are Memphis/boston feeling right now. Worst possible result for them!

Mind you in a stacked draft like this, a number 4/5 pick is like a number one pick from other years.

What a fantastic lottery!

Oden or Durant coming to Seattle was prob the only way public support could be rallied to a point where they would stay in town and not head across to Oklahoma.

Portland has to choose Oden. Which leaves Sonics with a total superstar in Durant.

Good times!!!

Just as long as they dont trade down for Spencer Hawes or another foreign center!

I say that the Blazers will try and ship Randolph for a top 10 pick and another large contract to try and get Conley

Not that this would be it but say Randolph to Bulls for Wallace and pick 9

They'll need higher than 10 for Conley. I believe that the Hawks have to pick Conley as he's the best PG in draft. Surely they have learnt from their past mistakes (Deron and Paul) and will tab Conley.

Portland should be dealing with the Hawks for a trade. Maybe Atlanta can swing a Randolph and Jack for the No 3 pick.

Possibly Conley doesn't get past the Bucks at 6. They'll let Mo walk (or sign and trade), draft Conley and then trade for a defensive type power forward. I guess Bogut is safe now.

A lot of 'experts'on ESPN are bashing this lottery. The two 'stars' both heading West and to the same conference. Marketing problem for the NBA.

Cote, I believe the Cats will give the playoffs (due to a weak East) a run next season, but only IF they resign Gerald Wallace and we need to pick up a legit scorer in either Carter or Shard.

I'd rather take Shard but I'm not 100% sure if he can lead a franchise. If he becomes a Cat then he'll become the face along with Okafor and Wallace.

With the 8th pick I'd hope Brewer, but he'll probably go around 5 or 6. My second choice is Hibbert which at least lets Okafor start at the PF position. I wouldn't say no to Yi if he's available but he could go at 4 or 5.

Sorry SVD, just re-read your post which I mistakenly read it as the 10th pick. Your right, Portland should be ringing all the teams in the top 10 except for Seattle/Oklahoma.

Most successful 3rd yr expansion team since the league has being established, while missing 4 of their top 6 players for large chunks of the season. If they add some depth to their front court and get that elusive wing scorer then they are headed to the playoffs for years to come.

They might have that wing scorer on their roster in either Herrmann (who could easily be the next Dale Ellis) or in Morrison (who needs to pull his finger out and play like a top 3 pick...)...

I like the Cats for the future - May could be a monster if he ever gets into shape and stays injury free (reminds me of the late Brian Williams/Bison Dele)... Wallace MUST be resigned, Okafor is a very decent centre, point g. might be where they need some help - starvin marvin is getting old, and Felton has some question marks - is Conley an option here???... Playoffs for sure - from there is anyones guess... Remember these guys have been very parsimonious with their cash - so can afford to bring in a big FA...

I think Walter could become a very good 6th man.

I've read that the Cats would like to keep Derek Anderson around to help mentor the younger guys and apparently he has some talent in relation to coaching.

If Conley was available at 8th then the Cats should nab him and see what Portland and/or Atlanta has to offer. If not they they two good PG's for the future.

I'm just not sold on Morrison....

but seriously, how lucky is Atlanta? top 10 pick goes to the pacers, so it goes 11th. Top 3 stays at Atlanta, so they get 3rd.

I think Altlanta my try and move up the draft to try and get Conley a bit later (ship their 10th pick and Childress). I think they should just bite the bullet and take Conley - they have so many SF that taking another one would be pointless - they have Joe Johnson at Guard they reall need a PG. That said they could take Acie Law if need be with their 10th pick

Take Conley 3 and try and get Hibbert at 10

Conley won't slip to 14. Atlanta needs a PG, Bucks needs a PG, Memphis needs a PG.

Atlanta would have the pick of the Portland roster (except for Roy and Aldridge). I happily take Randolph/Jack or Rodriguez/Randolph for Conley. I'd also chuck in a lottery protected first (heard of lotto protection BK???) and AJ and see if they would include Magloire.

C: Magloire/Zaza/Wright
PF: Randolph/Jones/Shelden
SF: Josh Smith/Marvin
SG: Joe Johnson/Stoudamire
PG: Rodriguez or Jack/Speedy/Lue

Trade AJ, Ivey and Wright and see if they could land a better backup SG/SF combo.

Making it work in the salary cap is another question.

Yeah, but he's expendable with the addition of Oden. I think they move LA to the pf and Oden starts in the middle. Outside of Randolph, Roy and LA I don't think there is much on the roster that is appealing.

I'd trade an unproved PG rookie for a 20/10 pf 8 times out of 10.

There is some talk that Shard was looking at Portland before the draft. He'd be definitely looking at Portland now.

Driving the lane against the Blazers is going to be nightmare.

The Northwest now becomes a tough conference with Portland, Denver, Utah, Seattle and and the Wolves.

'why should the hawks pick a player that is projected at pick 14 and take him number 3????'

Are you refering to Conley cheeze? He's a consensus top 10 pick, some mocks even have him as high as 5 (and ESPN has him at three now that ATL have the pick).

That wont happen. Not as a straight up trade - and I doubt it would happen anyway. Sonics would want a lot more than Darko and a few spare parts for Lew. Darko has had more than enough time in the league to prove himself. He is a bust.

It wasn't luck that the Pacers ended up with the 11th pick, and in turn sent it to the Hawks.

They finished with the equal 11th worst record in the NBA so unless they made it into the top 3 (1.5% chance) the pick was headed to Atlanta.
