Crocs set deadline for Abney.

Abney possibly available??

After initially hoping to have an answer before Easter, Crocs chief executive Ian Smythe said the club had given Abney until the end of this week to make a decision on his playing future.

Also still looking for an Aussie big..

The Crocs have made a move to fill the vacant spot with a top-line Australian centre and Smythe said he was hopeful the player would sign by the end of the week.

Off-contract New Zealand Breaker Ben Pepper is believed to be in the mix along with the Perth Wildcats' Paul Rogers

Surely Rogers would stay in the West after his form last year, and he is their captain..

Could Adelaide afford Abney?

Rogers will go where the money is.

Could we pair him with Ballinger? I like both, to be honest, but I think both are ideally suited to the 4 spot.

Ballinger is capable of sliding to the 3 spot, but IMO, can't play there for extended stretches.

I think the teams most pressing needs are for a legitimate 5 man & a scoring 3 man.

If one of those spots were to be filled by Newley or Schenscher (both looking unlikely ATM it seems) then we could slot an import into the other & have a side that cound contend.

I'd suggest the most likely scenario is that we'll get neither of those two, fill in import into one of their spots & be a decent team but 1 marquee player short of title contenders.

Would we want to try Rogers again, considering he prob won't go back to Europe again, and his injury woes seem to be over?

I think Abney would be ok in the 5 spot..
this could be a possible lineup?
PG:Davidson
SG:Brett
SF:.....
PF: BAllinger
C: Abney

I would rather have abney than ballinger or maybe tucker if tucker was still a rumour

Rogers contracted in Perth. Abney is choosing between the Crocs and 1-2 other teams.

Cheers Isaac, dare I say we are not one of the 1-2 teams??

Only mentioned Rogers because Townsville had mentioned that they were looking at him..
