Country Carnivaaaal - hippiddeeee hop

What did all our country cousins think of the weekends country carn-ival.

From what I saw much of the same old same old. Not much new talent coming to play, not much existing talent coming on (developing) either.

They could have held it in Whyalla or Mt Gambier or Victor and then we could have had a weekend away.

Thank god the footy was on the telly.

i think the local communities / papers need to promoted more spirit and get the kids fired up to represent their community.

we do not want it just the metro based country kids showcasing their boarding school / friday night skills against local level div 3/4 standard players

mt barker country - really!

Mount Barker Country... Does it really matter? The only team that got close from the Hills was the 16 Girls who lost the title match.

Interesting to see Sturt finally entering their own country team by the name of "Eastern Hills"

I don't know what you are implying; the Mavericks are a district club and are not involved in the country carnival. How could you possibly read anything into their future based on a tournament they were not involved in?

Why do people like you, who are clearly clueless, insist on posting crap, when they have no idea about basketball in this state?

PS there were Sturt kids (amongst others) playing for some teams in this carnival. Are Sturt doomed because those teams did not perform to your liking?

why are the mavs and eastern hills association at logger heads and not working together out of the same stadium - probably the underlying reason why my country cousins won't be around much longer.

Problems brewing I hear with the so called people in control of the club on top of the hill.

So all this is about Mavs and Eatern Hills rather than Country Basketball and the Championships on the weekend...

Mavs and Eastern Hills are not the same area.
Eastern Hills are basically the adelaide hills, up to and not necessarily not excluding Strath.

Where as at Mavs you have players from the country associations including Great Southern, Barossa, Murray Bridge, Kangaroo Island to name a few.

Doc Swan,

If you look at the Eastern Website it says that Eastern Mavs were formed from the Murray Bridge Bullets, Eastern Hills Hornets and Mt. Lofty Spurs.

Like all district clubs they can have layers from anywhere. But they still have a majority of players from the Eastern hill area. And surely working with the Eastern HIlls association is something that they should be doing.

I dont want to get into the debate about Mavs and Bullets.
It says "were formed from the Murray Bridge Bullets, Eastern Hills Hornets and Mt. Lofty Spurs"

You will find years ago Murray Bridge had an ABA team (a good one in fact) and then merged with eastern. Then eastern gave it to MB up the arse, and no ABA in Murray Bridge ever again.
The promise was to share, play games at both stadiums, train at both stadiums, but hello, it was all bloody mt barker.

Im not Denny Crane... i've just found a cure for arrogant spectators.

Dr Alfred Swan!!!
