Has to be Mike Osborne hands down. Have you ever spoken to a player b4 that played for him. They would all run through a brick wall for him. won plenty too!

Clayton,

You're a bit inconsistent. Why start a post for Best Ever District Men's Coach if in your next paragraph you concentrate on the crap coaches, stating it should be interesting as there have been some crap ones over the years and still are today.

It sounds more like a post for worst-ever coach if you ask me.

Depends on how far you want to go back.
Some of the best coaches in District Men would have to include:
Ken Richardson.
Alan Dawe.
Mike Osborne.
Reg Biddings.
Ian Laurie.

If you want to include District Women:
Merv Harris.
Ted Powell.
Brendon Flynn.
Kay McFarlane.
(no one currently in these coaches class)

No - Coach of the Year as well as a City of Adelaide title and premiership winning coach all in 1984.

Why would I, back in the day he was a very good coach.

Hard to name one coach that stands out over the even the most recent 10 years.
My list is biased towards the younger guys - all of which were giving back to a sport they love. In no particular order:
Rupert Sapwell
Mark Williamson
Steve Spencer
Billy Hopkins
Ben Osbourne
Scott Loveday
Bob Hunnerrup
Craig Gilbert

How do you like them apples Mr Bigsby?

Mark Williamson?
Bob Runnerup?

I totally disagree with you on those 2. Williamson had a fair bunch of cattle, and should have won the title in his years. I wouldn't even put him in the top 50 District coaches.

Elephant your list is wrong. Take Sapwell, Ben Osborne (if you meant mike that'd be different), billy hopkins (u mates with these boys or what??) and mark williamson off the list and you may have some quality coaches.
