Kevin Garnett approaches 18k, 10k, 4k
With five more assists, Kevin Garnett will become one of five players in NBA history to have accumulated at least 18,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists.
Ahead of him on that list? Kareem (38,387 points to KG's 18,166), the Mailman, Wilt and Charles Barkley.
It's not my place to detract from the looming milestone, but any regular reader of ESPN's Daily Dime knows that ESPN Research can come up with a milestone for just about anyone - next up, so-and-so becomes the 10th player in history to score x points, y rebounds, shoot .zzz from the field and have a personal chef with orange pants.
Anyway, who else would you expect to come close to that list?
I wondered about Shaq, but he has 24,820 points, 11,112 rebounds and 2,627 assists.
Also thought that LBJ might be on track for it, but while he's averaging 2,000+ points a year and around 500 assists per year, he's looking to take about 18-20 years to get the required rebounds.
Paul Pierce would need another 10-12 seasons or so. Same with Shawn Marion. Kobe Bryant is a couple of years short of the assist mark, but well short on rebounds with just 3,835 in 11 seasons.
