Australian "NCAA Div 1 College Watch" - 2010/11
The 2010/11 NCAA Division 1 college basketball season commences tomorrow Australian time.
Instead of starting up a number of threads following a few teams featuring a number of Aussies, this year I thought it best to track them all in the one thread! I will be posting results and news regularly on this thread and the similar one on the OzHoops site as well.

Anatoly Bose will be looking to impress NBA talent scouts as he makes a big push from a small program in a mediocre conference. He is now the lone Aussie on the teams as McCallum and Friend have both departed from last season. Expect to see some big performances from the Aussie after a stellar season last year that had him appear on some NBA draft boards.
Saint Mary's again features a number of Aussies, but may struggle to make it back to the big dance given the loss of their imposing front court in Samham and Allen. Expect to see a smaller line-up and Delly, Steindl and Young starting with Page coming off the bench.
Saint Louis will be looking to build on their impressive late season run from last season and feature 2 outstanding Aussies in Cody Ellis and Christian Salecich who are also joined by a Kiwi in Rob Loe. This team could get through to the NCAA Tournament this season.
Colorado who features two Aussies in Nate Tomlinson and Shane Harris-Tunks has already had a big set back. Harris-Tunks is out for the season after rupturing his ACL in pre-season training. They will find it tough to improve on last season's results.
After a disappointing 2009/10 season, the Wazzu will be looking to bounce back and we can expect to see more of Motum on court who is joined by fellow Aussie Kernich-Drew. Washington State would be looking at getting back into the NCAA tourney this season.
As the season unfolds, we can further explore further just how well some of the stand-out Aussies are faring.
Other teams with Aussies on their rosters that could be expected to do well include North Carolina State, Richmond, Old Dominion and possibly even New Mexico.
In any case, with 39 Aussies plying their trade in Division 1 this season, it will sure be worth following! Please let me know if I have missed anyone who may also be playing Div 1 this season and I'll add them into the list.
